Lesson 2- Muggle Currency

I thought that it was time for you to learn about the currency system that British Muggles use. They have eight coins and four banknotes. The coins are 1 penny, 2 pence, 5 pence, 10 pence, 20 pence, 50 pence, 1 pound, and 2 pounds and the notes are the 5 pound note, the 10 pound note, the 20 pound note and the 50 pound note. They use the decimal system meaning that there are one hundred pence to a pound.
To give you an idea on how much a pound is worth, consider this:
One galleon is worth £2.62
One sickle is worth £0.15
One knut is worth £0.005

This means that you need two knuts to get even one penny.
Now I want you to try to convert these problems. You may certainly use a calculator.

Pounds to galleons
£4
£8
£3.98
£1
£7.42
£2.11

Lesson One- Rubber Ducks

A Rubber Duck is a toy shaped like a duck; it is usually yellow and made of rubber. Many people link rubber ducks to bathing, as they are a bath time toy for kids. These rubber ducks became popular when Jim Henson performed the songs “Rubber duckie” and “duckie” as Ernie on Sesame Street in 1970. In 2001 A British tabloid reported that Queen Elizabeth II has a rubber duck in her bathroom that wears an inflatable crown. A workman who was repainting the bathroom reported this. The story of the Queens Rubber ducky inflated sales of rubber ducks by 80% for a short time in the United Kingdom. In 2007, the Guinness world record for the world’s largest rubber duck collection had 2,583 ducks, all belonging to a woman named Charlotte Lee.
